Back to Shinjuku
Today was primarily about the return to Tokyo before our rail pass runs out. We made sure that we had plenty of time between getting kicked out of our hotel and needing to be lined up with our luggage at the train, and ended up with almost an hour to spare. What we didn't get in large quantities was clear blue skies for another opportunity to spy Fuji-san on the ride over. We certainly kept our eyes peeled as we went past but it was all just cloudy.
Back in Tokyo though, and specifically Shinjuku, they made it pretty clear to us that we were finally back in the city of lights. It's such a beautiful ocean.
And a new light show they started since I was here last: projecting little stories onto the Shinjuku Metropolitan Building. Starting off strong with Godzilla!

But my previous train of thought was that it was hard to get bad Ramen in Japan. Well, I got another Ramen today that, while it was far more edible than what I got in Fukuoka, it still wasn't my thing. Maybe I'm just that picky when it comes to my type of Ramen. I guess I'll need to return to the Ramen shop in Akihabara and perform another experiment.
Being back in Shinjuku, I also got to make sure that I returned back to my old late night friend, Taito station. I had forgotten about the thumping bass you could feel in your chest from all the other music stations while you play with headphones. But they did not disappoint.
