Croatia

It started raining again, so it is high time that we bail the country.

Drive down to Switzerland and then fly to Croatia. Our route took us twice into Switzerland with a brief excursion through Germany again, and we didn't get stopped either time. I then started to believe I could pull off the same trick for the flight, as only one of us had to present the passport for the tickets, got through security and are almost at the gate, when there was a passport control after all. Switzerland is a weird combination of stuck in the EU but not actually a part of it either.

Our arrival at the tone for Croatia quite quickly, waving madly during the landing and finally landing with the right wheel first. Once through passport control (made up of looking at passport, and not stamping of even scanning), the taxis seat belt was broken. And the driver was on the brakes when passing from an 80 zone to a 100 zone.

But for all of that, the place looks seriously cool. Narrow streets, old buildings, directly at the sea, and 40 minutes waiting for someone to show us our apartment, even a bed to sleep in. Unfortunately the sun had already set by the time we started to look around, but towards the sea you had stars, and towards the city, lots of things are still illuminated. Either way, I look forward to the bright daylight version.
