Deutschland Deutschland

We arrived pretty late last night, but we obviously still managed to drag the Croatian summer along with us, considering that we had bright blue skies right from the morning. The sunscreen that we brought with us from Croatia came into immediate use over breakfast outside. Even if we didn't manage to get up early enough to also catch the Pony show.

After breakfast, we drove off to see a castle. Parked the car, and then stood in front of the sign that the pedestrian path up to the castle was closed and that we should walk along the road. We carefully tried to peer behind the sign, and wondered as to why the path was closed. So what do we clever people do, we walk along the path till we either have to turn around, or till we get to the castle. It turned into the latter, making us slightly curious about what exactly was so closed worthy about this path. Though we appreciate that the sign at the top of the hill which says that the path is closed, also has "danger to life" on it, something that probably would have made sense to put on the sign at the other end too.

And, I finally watched a soccer game. I also got quite a few warnings about why I might not want to go, considering the dangers of the winning/losing side. After a while of discussing, we couldn't really work out whether it would be worse for the Germans to win, or the French. Either way though, it would presumably end badly for me.
But, I finally got to watch a proper game, enthusiastic reactions from the crowd and all. Interesting phenomena though was that, the more germany was losing, the more stressed people were, and the harder it became to see the screen through all the smoke. Maybe they thought they if they smoke hard enough, it will be impossible to see the screen with the shameful score on it.

We only have a few days left on our adventure, but relaxation is still heavily subscribed, considering what a busy start we'll be getting into as soon as we get back to Australia. Either way, good night. Zzzzz

P.S.: View from the plane yesterday:
