For Science
Today was time for the science museum. Even if we aren't exactly fluent in Japanese, it's still exciting to see what kind of a show they put on in there. If was slightly sad to see that they had gotten rid of some of the optical illusions they used to have, but at least they finally explained to us what global warming is ... by putting a heater above the information sign.
Luckily the rain also eased out and allowed Tokyo to have a somewhat legal temperature again. So we decided to have a walk through the Shinjuku park. Or at least we would have if it hadn't closed at 16:30. Wait what? Things usually don't close till 23:00 in Tokyo, but the park next to the busiest train station in the world closes at 16:30...
The big pedestrian crossing in Shibuya is usually fairly busy, but that's only peanuts compared to what happens after the crossing got blocked by a rally for a single traffic light cycle. Interestingly enough, there was also a quad copter hovering around at the time, hopefully it got some good pictures of the scene. And the rally was kind of interesting considering that the ratio of police escorts to protestor was about 1:1.
