Kiama

In the words of my friends: "I need to get out of here!" So to the coast we marched (or possibly drove). Three hours later, a treetop walk gave us our first proper views of the ocean to come.

Some time and one breakfast later, and we got to enjoy the actual water. We're still not too convinced about the temperature of the water, and whether it's safe to swim in, but at least it's proving to be pretty. And walking along the rocks to find various rock pools of equally inhospitable water. But to recover from all those cold water thoughts, we got ourselves some ice-cream.

Once evening came, we remembered that we are still students who need to work every now and then. But to drown our sorrows, we got to introduce someone new to the wonderful world of Magic the Gathering. It didn't help that the only deck of cards I had on hand was my meanest deck. So that instead of being able to enjoy some beginners luck, they got to learn by fire. It needed several glasses of champagne before I stopped getting beaten up because of this.

Tomorrow promises more excitement as we don't need to drive down to the coast again. One of us has also already booked a reservation for our dinner to make sure that the rest of us don't get any funny ideas. And we'll have to take another look at how hospitable that ocean water was for swimming.

P.S.: I'm currently trying out a new camera, with lenses from the 80's and not a hint of auto-focus. While the camera tries to help me in this regard, I still seem to completely miss most of the time. I live in hope that by down-sampling the pictures enough, nobody can spot this.
