Mannheim

After spending a lot of yesterday driving, we had to make our way back and took a detour via Mannheim. And as we arrived and were driving past the Rosengarten, we noticed that there seemed to be quite some action. It would appear that I have rather a knack of arriving somewhere and finding something similar to a ComicCon, considering that this will be the third time that I have randomly bumped into one of these.

I've gone to an Anime Conference (on purpose) before, and got to spend a bit more time in the actual Conference. And something I learnt there is that if you want to see the good outfit, don't go to the competition. Because all the good ones don't care about that and just hang around on the grounds outside. No idea whether this was the case here, but I certainly saw more fun outfits this time than I had seen on purpose or otherwise before. We spent a few hours cooling down in the water by the Watertower, enjoying the show go past.

Wasps seem to be pretty crazy by now. The European Wasp as it is known in Australia, is a pest. And here it is also present everywhere, especially in Restaurants and similar. Today we had three wasps getting into one of our drink bottles. And after making themselves nicely comfortable on your dinner table, they are also protected animals, which means that while they are allowed to sting you, you can't fight back.

Tomorrow we fly out. Clothes have been cleaned, suitcases still need to be packed properly. But tomorrow the holidays into the unknown start.
