Mosquitopia

For people who know me, I'm very much a cat person, always happy with a furball to warm myself against. And there is a cat here at the house I'm currently staying at. So you'd think I'd be happy. But this cat is the grumpiest creature I know. He only makes an appearance when he's hungry (which seems to be most of the time), at which point he'll sit in the kitchen and howl to make sure the whole house knows he's hungry.

But we did find one creature that really loved me: mosquitoes! We went for a small walk and seemed to have arrived at headquarters considering that we were literally walking through a cloud of them. The only way to survive was to keep moving and keep waving over any exposed skin. For the one who wasn't waving enough, managed to get five bites over his eyebrows. So not exactly something I want to cuddle either.

We also got a little bit of a culture shock as we walked through the trees, arrived at a little clearing into the water to find a Muslim family having a picnic. Muslim to the point of the girl being covered in a tent with a slit for the eyes. Okay, keep walking through the thick trees, and arrive, after 30m, in another small clearing. Again already populated, with a couple in the water, skinny dipping. I wonder what sparks would fly it those two groups would see each other.

But the relaxation program was another huge success, with a bit of work sprinkled in to prepare for my return. But tomorrow a slightly more fancy trip is planned as our holiday time is starting to dwindle. Either way, this is one holiday I won't return from feeling stressed.

P.S. We have fire under the stary sky!
