We wanted to keep our travels simple in terms of the number of places we see. The more places we try to get to, the more time we spend in transit, and the more we would have to rush through. In order to keep it simple we restricted ourselves to Spain. But we also didn't want to stay in our existing accomodation in Bilbao. Which is why I write to you today from France.

On our way out of Spain, we went past San Sebastian. They have a theme park on a fairly tall hill which has a gorgeous view. One of the things it has a glorious view of is the beach below. Which, seems to have the entirety of Spain on it. It also had a theme park which probably had some of the smallest rides I've ever seen, but still seemed cute.

It also doesn't seem to matter how often you explain to my travel companion that Australia already has the best beaches and you don't have to go to Europe to go to the beach. Which is why we went to the beach and they went for a swim. At least I got a nice view and could relax a bit. At least, until the tide rose and threatened to soak me too.

Remember how I mentioned that I had a tendency of running into Anime conferences. Well … we seem to have run into a pilgrimage this time. We were curious where all the traffic was going and discovered a long line of people with choir music. I'm also willing to believe the wikipedia articles line of "As of 2011, of French cities only Paris had more hotel capacity", considering that the view from our hotel room is looking at 20 other hotels. It doesn't feel like I need to be scared like I did in my previous accomodation, but this also counts as more of an experience than I had originally bargained for.

One thing remains the same about france though, the crêpes are good.
