Showrooms
In the past, it happened maybe once per trip that I would get myself caught on a busy train and be pushed around in the flow of people trying to get on or off.
Well, we appear to be attempting to keep up the streak of hitting one of those trains at least once a day. Today, it was even twice. Surprisingly, we had a local appologising to us about how terrible the Tokyo train system is with everyone being so pushy. My response to this is that at least there is a Train system, and it does shuffle a lot of people around. It has also lost it's actual scare factor / significance, after the fourth day in a row.
As far as I'm aware, there are only a couple of the new Honda NSX's demo units in Australia, and the number of purchased ones can be counted on both hands. So it paints a different picture having seen one in the wild yesterday, and seeing two in the Honda Showroom in downtown Tokyo.
What the Honda showroom didn't have though was anything interesting in terms of a sane car that I'd want. There were practical people movers, small boxes, and the NSX's, and that was basically it. I know this is not their entire range; I guess I went to the wrong showroom to see the new Honda lineup of today.
The number of cameras on the Shibuya crossing appear to have exploded of recent. With every single pedestrian phase, the intersection is bustling with people posing, tourists and locals alike. There were wedding pictures, selfies, fashion pictures, staged tourist pictures. I wouldn't have been surprise if there would have been a booth on the side somewhere of someone trying to do professional pictures of "You! Walking across the Shibuya Intersection."
Today was more of a relexation day, where we ended up sitting around in Yokohama, enjoying the various lights across the docklands, being happy it was warm enough to walk around outside, and complaining that it was too cold to sit still outside. Tomorrow is the last full day in Tokyo. I'm still heavily squeezing my thumbs in hope for good weather tomorrow. But I guess there's only one way of seeing how that will work out.
