Someone got brave

Yesterday: "We should get out by 9 o'clock"
This morning, 8:50: "Do I have to get up now?"
Baby steps. At least we didn't ask this question after 9.

Listetning to a tape deck at a construction site, I again got a whiff of what kind of music is played in Croatia. Yes, you've got the american pop music being played in all the tourist places, the music that is listened to everywhere else sounds like music from the 70's. And after a while, you feel completely out of place playing anything younger on the car stereo.

After we both have radio watches, we were both happy that they started setting themselves when we entered Germany. Since we entered Croatia however, only mine is still capable of receiving the signal (and even then, only late in the night), whilest my travel companions can't. This is giving him a lot of grief and means that his watch is half a second fast by now. Pointing this out to him has the potential for hours of fun.

In our dinner restaurant, a TV was showing the Euro Cup match between Wales and Belgium. Nobody in our restaurant seemed to be paying a lot of attention as you would first hear the next restaurant cheering loudly for a goal, everybody turns to face the TV, and then our restaurant cheered the replay. But people still seem to be following these games even though Croatia already lost.

For those of you who have been desperately trying to match up our pictures with google images of various parts of Croatia, we have been in Split (and surrounding area). Tomorrow however, we make our way inland to see what else Croatia has to offer. To sea might be stunningly beautiful, but we're sure there's more.

And yes, someone got brave. And swam. In the sea. Without kicking like they were about to die. And it wasn't me.
