Summer is on a Friday this year
Yep, it's actually warm today, and people still laugh at me for wearing a jacket. But at least I don't glow in the dark now like some of us.
After about 50 metres of ascending, I did however make the unfortunate realisation that being an overworked uni student for half a year, my fitness didn't exactly improve. And then the sun shined a little brighter, and I got to attack the remaining 160 metres. But the sight from the top was impressive, with a visibility seriously impressive for Germany.
Our tour guides left us at the top to continue enjoying the sight, leaving us the direction of the way back, and a single instruction of which way to turn. We found the path, found the T intersection, followed the instruction, and then promptly decided that it was a rubbish instruction and walked the other way. Apparently there was a single path before that where we walked wrong. sigh
We then also discovered why we had so little jetlag, our hosts seem to have absorbed it all, and needed some siesta. Well, gave me a chance to deal with a few other responsibilities of mine.
For the next hill, the car was gracious enough to give us a hand, visiting a castle with ice cream shop. With one kid and me on my knees at the counter we even managed to get ice-cream.
But it's also starting to look threateningly like the end of summer. Weather forecast for tonight: Thunder. Tomorrow: Rain. I live in stupidly optimistic hope that the forecast people around here are just trying to put me on. The sky on the horizon disagrees with me. Our hosts also said that there would be no hail, about half an hour before driving his car under cover because the roof was emitting too loud banging noises.
