The great escape of 2023

Four blog entries ago it was still 2019. It has been that long since I have managed to leave this country. And today, we change that!

Okay, maybe not. But we're working on it! Tonight we flew out to Sydney, where I get to spend the night and then jump on the international plane bright eyed and bushy tailed at ... 6am? Well, at least it's not that anybody expects me fly the plane at this time of day.

My flights are keeping me on my toes right off the get go though. My plane arrived, everyone got off, new luggage got loaded, and then ... everybody left? The boarding time came and went. The departure time came and went. And eventually, the flight went from "Go to gate", to disappearing off the board. Without a single announcement. Turns out the plane had a mechanical failure and the flight was cancelled. Lucky me that I have an overnight layover in Sydney so I wasn't in any rush, and they got me on the flight an hour later anyway. If this is the entree though, what is the main flight going to be like?
