Tokyo (東京)

Our usual method of getting out of the country involved driving to the nearest city and flying from there. This time we decided to spoil ourselves and fly to the nearest city instead.
Spoiling does not mean having this plane being 1.5 hours late and running to the gate which is calling you across Sydney airport. Nore does it mean sitting in Economy class on a schoolbus sized plane who's engines sounded like that of a steam engine, but we'll overlook that one.

24 hours of alternating between moving really slowly and not getting anywhere inside an airport we arrived in the world of reliable train transport. At 7 in the morning. And if the colour of my demonic looking eyes is anything to go by, this was not exactly ... agreeable, but instinct kicked in after seeing enough trains to feel comfortable regardless.

What I didn't get comfortable with was the icicles hanging from my face. I usually go travelling to get away from the freezing that is my home outside of summer but apparently I stuffed something up somewhere. On the positive side, this means I have legitimate excuses for constantly drinking hot chocolates.

Today's actual activity revolved mostly around enjoying the feel of the city. Getting dangerously close to stores where we could lose all our money, just to buy ink cartridges for a friend. And revisiting the first of many favourites.
