Skipping Sydney

Holidays! Oh how I've missed you. Planes! I have not missed you one bit. While I continue to be fascinated by the technology and love to see planes from the outside, I seem to be picking up an unfortunately bad mindset when it comes to being on a plane. And not having someone next to you that you can declare as "pillow" at a moments notice, doesn't make it any better. But, who would have thought, that one day I would be able to take flights directly from my little village (capital) airport directly overseas as opposed to having to hop to a larger airport first. At least this removed some of the transfer stress.

We also managed to work out our flights such that we could actually take a nap at the stop over as opposed to having to force ourselves to sleep on the plane. The result was that even though we arrived quite late at the destination, by the time we got there, our internal clock had already been somewhat adjusted. And with the second flight being all in daylight, every time I decided to have a look at the view outside, there was always something new.

Arrival probably gave us one of the worst car rental experiences we could have had. It took half an hour in a queue to even get service, and then we had to run a few times between the rental station and the parking garage to comlain first about the smokers smell, and then about the lack of oil in the engine. In the end we got "upgraded" to a people mover, which at least should make a nicer car to look out of. And after all that took over an hour, it was just shy of 2 before we arrived at our destination for the night (or just shy of 10am from the perspective of the timezone we just came from).

Let's see whether this sleep cycle takes us.
